Due to a recent deprecation of the APIs that SearchTogether uses to retrieve Live Messenger contact lists, SearchTogether's sign-in service is experiencing errors. We are working on correcting this issue. - Merrie

Thanks for reporting this bug you are experiencing. SearchTogether is beta software, designed to prototype new concepts we are exploring at Microsoft Research; since it is not a full-fledged product, there may still be some bugs. You mentioned that many people at your workplace are experiencing the same bug -- perhaps there is a setting on your corporation's firewall that is interfering with the connection?
