  • Re: (JIT) Debugging Error

This has nothing to do with WorldWide Telescope, this is a problem with your Dell utility DataSafeOnline.exe. It is the DELL software crashing, not WWT. Jonathan

  • Re: Multi-Monitor Cluster Setup

Apologies for the help section not being complete yet. We are working on it, but here is a quick overview. WWT can have a master slave mode were multiple slaves can be controlled over a local network from a single master. A file c:\config.xml with contents formated like below will control the rendering of each slave machine. A simple example would be a video wall of 15 computer in a 5x3 matrix. The address of monitors in the array in this example are zero based: they start with 0,0 and end with 4

  • Re: Curious about status of WWT

We have really only advertised this site as a community support forum, we also have direct Microsoft support thru our website. We currently have had more that 2.5 million users install and use the WWT client successfully, as well as more that 50 million visitors to the website who have viewed tour videos or gotten information on WWT. We see a huge amount usage every day so we know people are using WWT. For such a large base and the traffic, we have had a relatively good luck with support issues.

  • Re: X-Box 360 Support

You can use a wired XBOX 360 USB controller connected to your computer thru a USB port. Or a wireless XBOX360 that is mated to the PC wireless usb "puck" to control WWT. WWT does not appear on your XBOX, just your PC, but you can use the XBOX controller to control your PC session running WWT.

  • WorldWide Telescope Escapes to the web!

Well we have done it now. Just like sky-net, we have broken the bonds of installation and hopped on to the web. Last week we announced our preview of the new WWT Web client. The web client not only allows access to a large part of WWT's functionality without having to run a full setup, but it allows access to a whole group of new people. Intel Mac User User who don't want to take the time to install a download. People whose machines don't meet the minimum system requirements. Users who

  • Re: Comet Lulin

Try the FLickr Astrometry.net pool http://www.flickr.com/groups/astrometry/ You can see a history of Lulin thru images as it crosses the sky. In our next release we will publish the MPC and Comet database on-line so you can track comets with the time slider..
