  • Re: Upgrades

Having just released AutoCollage 1.0, we're still very much involved in wrapping up details associated with this version. We haven't announced any future releases, and so can't say whether there will be AutoCollage upgrades in the future. If this changes, we'll be sure to post information...

  • Re: Output size limitations?

The pre-defined sizes is indeed very limiting. I am running quad-mon and can get a fairly high resolution picture, but I can't choose 11"x14" or 12"x12" (square mode) even though they are smaller in resolution. These are the sizes I typically print. Doesn't make sense to crop...

  • Re: Sorry guys but this has seems to have no where near enough features / options to justify the price

Please don’t hesitate to contact our team at acfeed@microsoft.com if you have further feedback or want more details about the AutoCollage application. 1. The AutoCollage application...

  • Re: Why on earth does the installer check if I have windows updates turned on???

Hi JG007, Microsoft signed a consent decree with the U.S. Government to settle a antitrust case against the company a few years ago. As part of that settlement, Microsoft applications cannot use the "Microsoft Update" service without the user consent. The AutoCollage setup will ask users to...

  • Re: Select fotos to Collage

Hi David, Thanks for trying Microsoft Research AutoCollage. Selecting the most interesting pictures of a certain set is a complex problem. At this time, the algorithm used by AutoCollage in this "ranking" stage will take into account the number of faces in images, their histogram and some other...

  • Re: Select fotos to Collage

Hi, I had the same issue. I selected around a 100 photos from a recent trip to Thailand, and I was hoping to run AutoCollage a few times and get a nice selection of collages from it, but I keep getting the same set of photos. short of diving my 100 photos into separate folders each with 15 or so photos...

  • Re: Cannot install in XP

Hi Derek, As a result of some misconfiguration, some software components may not be properly updated in a few machines. Would you confirm that you can go to the site http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and that site is able to properly detect and offer updates to your Windows XP? You don't need to...

  • Purchase

Hi there, It is a pretty useful tool - at least until Picasa offer same function for free. It seems there are still some problems to purchase the product - can I buy with a German Visa or Master Cardd? Furthermore, it would be necessary that the resolution can be set in metric units and/or pixels and...

  • Re: The reason for Autocollage price ?

Atomusk, The integration of a technology into an existing product usually takes even more time than developing an independent application to showcase that technology. That also requires the schedules for both teams to be aligned. Our schedule didn’t align with WLPG (Windows Live Photo Gallery) for this...

  • Re: Cannot install in XP

Derek, A possible reason for this is that some previous installation is pending a reboot that still didn't happen, what may prevent our setup from committing its changes. A way to investigate if that is the case is to reboot and verify if the AutoCollage setup succeeds after that. Another possibility...
