I installed WWT and all the available Guided Tours on my PC.  I have already installed WWT on other PCs and would like to have the Guided Tours on those PCs also, but I don't want to individually download them onto each PC, too time consuming.  Can I copy the files for the Gouded Tours from the PC where they're installed onto the others.  If so, which files?

By default the Tours live in the WWT cache folder.  Usually something like:

 C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WorldWideTelescope\tourcache

Copying them over will do the job.  However you might also want to look at sharing the WWT folder over the network.  I've put mine on my server box so that all cached images are also stored there to speed things up when on my other machines.  You can do this by going to <your username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft_Research and editing the user.config file in there, there's a setting for "CahceDirectory" (not a typo) which specifies the location of the WWT folder.

Thanks.  If I'm understanding you correctly, I can copy the guided tour files from on my PC onto a server, then edit the user.config file on each client PC to look on the server for files, so that there will be only one copy of the tour files.  Using this approach, can I run the same tour on multiple PCs simultaneously, without any sharing difficulties?

If I want to do setup WWT for use on a network is there anything else that I need to do or do differently, like any other files that I need to move/copy, edit?

I have another question.  This software requires Microsoft.NET Framework to be installed on the PC, I downloaded Framework version 3.5 from Microsoft's site, a small file of about 3 Mb, but when I run that it then begins a 55Mb download and install, and there's no option for me to simply download the 55 Mb file and install when I choose, or to even use that file to install on other PCs.  Is there a file that I can simply download onto a server then install that on each PC on the network?

You have to share the entire cache folder, not just the tours themselves.  I'd imagine there could be conflicts if two machines were writing to the same file at the same time, how well WWT would handle this I don't know, this probably isn't something they're testing much against at the moment.  If all machines are doing is reading from the cache there shouldn't be any issues.  Although depending on how many machines you have hitting the server you may hit a limit on the number of connections allowed.

The full re-distributable package can be downloaded from here, but it does weigh in at about 200MB.
