When I export a song, there is only a loud static hiss where the voice portion of the song should be. The instrumental intro and exit is fine. Does anyone no how to correct this?
I am using XP on an IBM Thinkpad.
Does the voice sound okay when you're just playing the song back in Songsmith, and you hear the hiss only when you export, or does the voice sound liks static hiss when you play back as well?
Does this happen all the time, or just for one particular song?
Thanks!
-Dan
Turns out, it only happens on one song. Other songs I have recorded do not have the problem
For the song with the problem: The voice on playback in Songsmith is fine. The static hiss only appears in the exported WAV and WMA. I have tried to re-export, but the same problem occurs.
I'll take this offline w/KuehrMc and will let everyone know if we find a solution.
KuehrMc; you should get an e-mail from me...
Thanks...
Thanks to KuehrMc's help, we tracked this down to a bug in Songsmith, which fortunately almost never shows up (some very unlikely things had to happen with the audio to make this happen). This bug will cause - in those very rare circumstances - vocal audio in exported content only to be replaced by static. It will only affect one recording, as KuehrMc described, and subsequent recordings will be fine.
We have fixed this problem internally, and whenever we are able to release a subsequent update to Songsmith, we will incorporate this fix.
If someone has captured that MAGIC vocal take, and this rare problem shows up, and you ABSOLUTELY need to export it or the music world will suffer a major loss, contact me offline for a workaround to "rescue" files that exhibit this problem.
Thanks to KuehrMc for helping us track this down!
FYI this problem has been fixed in the just-released version of Songsmith (version 1.02). Thanks to KuehrMc for helping us track this down.
