Due to high demand, we are taking every effort to make AutoCollage broadly available by the end of Nov/2008.
Please check back then for more information on availability outside of US and EU.

We thank you for your interest in AutoCollage.

Is AutoCollage available to Canadian residents?  I attempted to purchase the program but encountered Marketplace difficulties.

 Thanks

Hi RGenie,

At this point in time I believe Canada is not an option on the Windows Marketplace for purchasing. As mentioned earlier in this thread, we will be rolling out purchasing across the world at the end of November this year. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Regards,
Chris

Hi there! Sorry to have this subject brought up again, but I have fa question about getting auto-collage in Canada. I filled out the billing information and put my full canadian address under address & address 2 and under city, state, and zip code I put an address for a hotel in Las Vegas. In the notes I made a comment that my actual address is in in the address & address 2 fields & that they can ignore the Las Vegas address. This let me get to the next page where it asks for the payment information. I did not go any further then this as I was not sure if it was legal or not. Would this be accepted?

Hi DerBo,

Thanks for youre interest in Microsoft Research AutoCollage 2008.

Unfortunately we are only technical support for the AutoCollage application and don't have the information you require for the Microsoft Store. May I recommend you contact them direct by using their support contacts: http://store.microsoft.com/Help/Contact-Us.

Chris.

Unfortunately AutoCollage is still only available for US and European Union billing addresses at this point in time (May/2009).

We are working with our operations group to make AutoCollage available in as many geographies as possible and as soon as possible. We are sorry for the delay but are doing everything we can to expedite availability. The list of countries supported by the Microsoft Store is constantly growing, as you can verify at http://store.microsoft.com. We will post updates about availability in our support forum (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=122182).

Thanks.

As usual the Microsoft main US site has it and even though Canadians are able to beta test for them they have not included us in being able to purchase the product.  There are many Asian countries (including communist China) that can purchase it yet CANADA isn’t worth the trouble to Microsoft......  It is funny how they like to bombard my inbox with material about try this and that allow me download betas or trials and then are to stupid to include Canada as a country able to actually purchase the product.  Yes I understand it is third party software but if Microsoft US has it why should we not be able to purchase it (especially after wasting our time by emailing us with product info)?  There are many companies out there that don’t want to be bothered creating a Canadian site and that is fine yet they usually seem to be smart enough to add the Canadian provinces / territories abbreviations and accept our postal codes when it comes to sales.  Is Microsoft becoming so fat and lazy that it is preparing to join other companies that have gone this route?  Perhaps in the near future we will be reading about Microsoft joining the ranks of GM and Chrysler.  Poor Microsoft was just too lazy with blinders on to react to customer satisfaction.

Just another quick note.... I have decided to send all email received or related to Microsoft to my email programs junk mail file. Microsoft has wasted my time too many times with crap like this and I’m just not going to put up with their dim-witted actions anymore.

Mark,

Thanks for your interest in the Microsoft Research AutoCollage 2008 application. The product team would definitely like to see the product available in Canada, Australia, and several other countries from which we continuously receive feedback from potential customers. However, from taxes to product internationalization and support, there are several issues that need to be addressed before the product is available in a certain country. Work continues to be done in order to bring the AutoCollage technology to as many worldwide customers as possible, as soon as possible.

Thanks.

I can understand the above fellows grief... I too downloaded the trial version of your product and fell in love with it.  Only to discover when I went to purchase it, that I was unable to.  Again when the U.S. and Canada are so interconnected, I fail to understand the difficulties in marketing.  esp when we are offered so many other products by microsoft ie word, office, works, etc.

It is just that since Nov..08 talk of distribution up north here as been circulating... as yet no results.. I am just dissapointed because I really love this product and now it is on sale for just $10.  So please contact us as soon as possible releases are available for Canadians or do not allow areas where the product is not available to be able to download it even for a trial period.  Fewer of us would be so dissappointed then.

Thx for listening....

Alisson,

As previously mentioned, whilst I can understand the desire for Microsoft to actually be able to get some money back from Microsoft Research rather than giving everything away, maybe this is something that should be done _after_ all the pieces are in place to allow people from all over the world to purchase.

To be perfectly honest, I've given up.  It's a terrific product, works as advertised, very simple to use, nice results, etc. Just too damn hard to purchase.

However, from taxes to product internationalization and support, there are several issues that need to be addressed before the product is available in a certain country.

These issues only seem to be an obstacle to Microsoft and no other software company, regardless of size - right down to one-person companies. Most of these issues don't even exist in the case of Canada and Australia since Microsoft does not need to localize for these markets. Canada and USA share the same support lines.

It's NOT constantly growing.Even the EU can add countries faster than Microsoft.
