 Is there anyway to have the names of constellations appear by default? Also, how do I get the constellation names appear by pointing the mouse?

Do you mean appear in the main display screen? If so, then no, that option does not exist as it would get in the way of the imagery. The constellation names always appear in the lower right part of the application though - isn't that enough?
