I cant stabilize the view.  It keeps spinning out of control.  I can only stop the spinning when I select one of the objects below, then it focuses on that object and holds still.  As soon as I zoom out to the general view, it starts spinning wildly again.

By any chance do you have a joystick plugged in? If so disconnect it. Let us know if it worked.

Thanks

I have similar issues with the spinning, there is also an oscillation of maybe 3 or 4 degrees above and below an imaginary horizon.

Any sort of window that pops up will stabalize the picture. I do have a Joystic (HOTAS) so I unpluged both the stick and throttle but this made no difference.

Another issue is that when I choose the view object it magnifies and then goes back to normal state. I don't get a chance to look at anything for more than a second or two.

I have an SLI graphics setup so I turned that off to see if that would help but this made no fifference either.

I hope this extra info. might help shed light on this issue,

Look to see if you have anything out of the ordinary plugged into a USB port i.e. USB flash drive or any kind of input device other than a mouse and keyboard.

The program is working perfect now. Here is what I have done.

Tries unplugging the Joystick and throttle. No affect

Tried disabling the Finger print reader in device manager. No affect

Restarted a couple of times- No affect

Completely shut down and then restarted- I'm not sure

Mouse did not get detected after powering up so I re-plugged in the mouse while at the logon screen.(Loose mouse connection????)

Recalibrated Joystick before playing game-I'm not sure

It seems to be one of, or combination of shutting the computer down, Plugging the mouse,  and or recalibrating the joystick.

The next time I started the program up it worked like a dream.Smile

Actually I am experiencing a similar issue aswell. When I first download and used the program, it was great, no problems whatsoever. The next day I go to use it, and now two big problems occur. Besides slightly slower image rendering, all I see is a dark blue color when viewing certain parts of the sky or objects. Secondly, when I leave the viewing cursor still, it starts to move to the left at a slow pace. When zooming in to a planet or other object, the camera/viewing windows shakes rapidly then starts once again moving to the left. Please, any idea on what the problem is? Otherwise, it's a great, revolutionary piece of software. Thanks.

I'm just a user.... not a tech, and not with Microsoft.

Have you checked that in the view menu that it is on "Real Time", and not set at 10,000 or higher times, because you hit the "fast forward" button?

Try hitting the "Now" button, and the drop-down should display "Real Time".

That dark blue color may be the part of the sky below your local horizon if you have the View From Location item in the View pane selected.  De-select that and see if the blue goes away -- you will then see the whole sky, north and south hemispheres, as from the center of the earth.

The view will move slowly even if the time setting is set to real time -- the rotation of the earth, you know.  To stop it, select the Pause in the Time Setting of the View pane.

Wow that's such a "duh" solution. Thank you for the suggestions. It worked perfectly. I guess I've been underestimating the power and realism that is World Wide Telescope. Thanks again.

Good hint.  I had the same problem and it turned out to be my Guitar Hero III controller.
