When I launch the telescope, it tells me I don't have an internet connection, which I obviously do.  I am assuming there is a proxy set up issue, but I don't really know.  What do I need to know.

Have you tried following the instructions here?: http://community.research.microsoft.com/forums/t/1039.aspx

I am running into the same issue. Looks like WWT does not recognize or is unable to detect IE's network settings.

WWT team: You could save us a lot of trouble by adding a Network settings option under Settings. This would allow us to
specify the proxy.

Same issue here, there are no settings for proxies in the configuration files nor registry

Same issue here. I have the proxy server specified using automatically detect in IE8, and have also tried entering the proxy information manually.

This is on Vista Ultimate and I believe the proxy server is Squid.

Chuck Needham:

Yes with both our automatic proxy.pac file and setting the proxy manually. Neither work. Browsing, MSN Messenger and Windows Live Mail all work fine with these settings. Also WW Telescope works fine at home without a proxy server on this same laptop.
