Question : Why DPI of 150?

It is generally accepted that for printing 200 dpi is the minimum and preferably 300

Can't register AutoCollage

I have installed Win 7 64 Bit. I have installed AutoCollage - new version. It seems to run fine. However, when I try to register the prduct, I get the following in a dialogue box after I enter the product key. "Your account does not have permission to register this product. Execute the application using an account with administration permissions and reenter the product key."

I am the only user on this computer and rest assured, my user is administrative. FYI, I installed it with Win 7 32 bit and had no such issues.

Collage cannot be viewed.

Hi, I just recently downloaded auto collage 2008 trial version, and I'm having an issue w/ the collage after i press create. First I loaded some pictures from a trip then I press create just to see what this program was all about. After I waited for the process to finish, and when it did it was just a black (blank) screen. I tried restarting my computer several times but problem still exist.

Windows View

Is it possible to add at least one "View" option for a completed collage? Specifically - Fit to Window.

The problem now is that if a custom collage size is created that is larger than the screen resolution one has to scroll to see the entire collage (unless I've missed something - entirely possible).

I'd like to make some large prints (24x16 or so) and I can't view a collage to see if it's worth saving without "saving it first" and viewing it in another program. Wastes a lot of time that could be avoided if AC2008 had a "View" menu option of the type available in most image software.

Photos are creating

I uploaded 15 photos into the software, but the creating sign keep spinning and nothing happens. The photos spin for 10 seconds and stops. But i have created a collage with 27 photos and it worked perfectly. Can you let me know the cause?

AutoCollage: Bluescreen with Nvidia Graphics Card

Hi,

I was using the Demo AutoCollage 1.0 with no problems at all.

Since I purchased AutoCollage 1.1 I discovered a lot of problems with AutoCollage, after some time of using it, spending minutes (!) at 100% CPU doing something. I reported this by e-mail with no conclusion. So I kept shutting the program down after I create a collage and restart it.

Since some time I occasionally get a bluescreen with 'infinite loop' with nv4_disp driver. MS message after recovery: Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078)

I updated to the latest Nvidia drivers which made it even worse. So I went back to the old driver. I am using NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT at 2560x1600 resolution. Driver version NVIDIA 6.14.11.9038. WinXp SP3 regularly updated.

I use dozens of programs on my PC and none has ever showed this problem. The bluescreen only appears with AutoCollage 1.1. This is why I think it might be a problem in AutoCollage.

Any advise on how to avoid this?

Is there a way to know what files where used to create the collage?

What I like to do with the program is point it at a copy of a large directory of photos

Then create a collage and save

Remove those files and create another collage.

I repeat the process until I am happy (BTW, love this program)

Enhancement,

add an option not to reuse photo’s of a saved collage or (more dangerously) delete photo’s of a saved collage.

Create an output file with the file names of used photos Thanks and can’t wait to see what you do with the next update.

Perpetual Hold

I have a registered copy of Autocollage 1.1 which worked beautifully initially. Now, regardless of the number of photos chosen or their sizes, Autocollage falls into a perpetual hold immediately after reading the folder with the images. I have rebooted a number of times but to no avail. Is this a known issue? Do I need to uninstall and reload?

Is there a minimum amout of disk space required to complete the process? I have been working with graphics from some 25-30 years and am thoroughly impressed with the capabilities of this software.

Hope someone out the can help. I love the program.

last fall i downloaded the trial version of auto collage and was very impressed with the results,however i did not recieve key numbers to register. Is this because the product is not available in canada yet? If so when or will it be available in canada?If i was to purchase it in usa would i have a problem with the download when i get it home .any help on this subject would be greatlt appreciated.Thanks .

AutoCollage Breaks Outlook

AutoCollage seems to break Outlook. I'm running Vista Premium (SP1) and Office 2003 (SP3). All updates are installed

When I installed AutoCollage, It broke Outlook. SYMPTOM: When you insert an attachment, the file name field is not populated and the file name does not show as an e-mail attachment (if you send the e-mail, the attachmnet is attached).

I did a system restore to remove AutoCollage and Otlook was good to go. To test, I re-installed AutoCollage and it broke Outlook again. Same symptom.

I did a system restore to eliminate AutoCollage and life is good.

I am new to Window Live AutoCollage and like its name said, it is auto. The only choice you really have is on the pictures you choose , if AutoCollage can read them or find them and that is after you have all ready selected the photos / folder.

You can shuffle the photo and tried to organize them the way you would like, but that doesn't alway happend because, the What You See, Is what you get, does not always happen. When I look at my print preview and than examine the actually print, pictures are cropped wrong, heads may be missing and some of the photos are completely changed by the way they were set but AutoCollage.

Having said that, is there anyone who can actually convincence me or any other newbee that this program is the way to go before we upgrade and paid the cost. (yes, I know the price is inexpensive, but still...)

Thats means that you don't get that blur effect.

Trial Version Water Mark Appears After Full Version Purchased

I installed the trial version of autocollage last week and purchased the software this morning. I uninstalled the trial version and then downloaded the purchased version. However, when I I created new collages it still has the trial version water mark. I have uninstalled and redownloaded, repaired the download, etc. Nothing works.

How can I correct?

Is it possible to relocate images? Sometimes I want a particular picture in the middle/corner. The auto collage does not always look great. Some pictures get the top/bottom part cut, meanwhile I need the detail there. Thanks.

INSTALLING AUTO COLLAGE

I am having trouble installing Auto Collage, it gets right to the end and stops, giving me a message that it was interrupted and therefore could not install, and suggest I run setup again which I've done now several times with the same results. Have any of you run into the same problem, and if so, how did you get Auto Collage to install on your system? I am using Windows Vista Home Premium, 2GHz of RAM, Pentium dual core 3.0 MHz onto a 500Gb HDD, I turned off Virus detection software and even reboot between tries and still nothing. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Autocollage is a great technical demo, but not a product yet

As everyone seems to agree, Autocollage does all the difficult stuff really well, but when it comes down to the things that should be easy, there seems to be no attention to detail.

The following are my main comments:

1. Arbitrary image size urgently required

2. Ability to select the images to be used is urgently required (and particularly the ability to deselect the images you don't want) - the current workaround of creating copies in a new folder isn't worthy of the cheapest freeware

3. Regularise the pricing structure - there is no reason that European customers should have to pay twice the price of US customers

I would love to buy this once it is a product (even though I suspect it has a short shelf-life before it comes bundled into a Windows product) - at the moment these stupid limitations block it completely.

I wanted to post a question about AutoCollage. However, it appears this is unavailable. For some reason I can't place a post there. I'm posting here with the hope that the post can be moved or someone can inform me how to post to the Autocollage forum.

I've now wasted many hours trying to use Autocollage, but unfortunately it appears that after trialling it I can't get it in Australia. Further in reading the forums it appears that some people thought it would be made available in Australia a while back but still hasn't. This is annoying but more annoying that it is almost impossible to ask a question about features or access to the program via this less than intuitive "Research Community". I don't get Microsoft sometimes, it's as if you can't kick your customers enough. From a personal perspective I'm small fry but from an IT perspective I oversee a multi hundred thousand dollar a year budget. The way you deliver with this forum and half assessed delivery of software is an example of how not to do things. Why do you keep doing this...I'm a Microsoft fan...but you sure as hell make it tough. How about a big sign on the web page that this product is not available outside the US and Europe.

Anyway (although I'm relatively sure this post will be removed) here are the questions:

Are we any closer to knowing when Autocollage might be available for Australians to purchase.
When I save the image at 40 x 40 inch the image was about 11MB. Does this represent any loss of quality of the original images or does Autocollage hold the highest quality of images intact during the collage?
I'd really like to produce a collage 40 x 50. Is there any chance that a soon to be released version of this product by Microsoft might go so large?

Can't open Auto Collage

Downloaded Auto Collage and was working with it then the next day went to open and nothing would happen, clicked on icon.... hour glass came up and went away. no message or anything.

What could have happened???
