It doesn't do anything except play a corny MIDI track and detect when you stopped singing so it can add on a little boo bop ba boo to the end. I sang, I made screechy cat noises, banged my microphone against the desk, and the same boop bee boo upbeat MIDI track keeps playing, it doesn't care. This program is snake oil; doesn't seem to do any of the advanced futuristic composition work the advertisements imply.

Are you sure you were actually recording?

I did the same thing to find that my latest computer does not have a built-in microphone (much to my surprise). I hooked one up using an audio to USB interface and the results were entirely different. Also be sure to make sure the microphone is selected in the Windows Control Panel -> Sounds And Audio Devices -> Properties -> Audio (at least in my version of XP -- your computer set up may vary).

The 2 bar ending depends on the style you have chosen. I write aftermarket styles for Band-in-a-Box and thus SongSmith by default. To hear the demo files which include a few bars of the A section (light), B section (lively) and the ending included with the style go to my style demo page
