Version

  • Q: What is the current version of Image Composite Editor?
    A:
Version 1.1r1 was released on Monday, October 20, 2008. Download here.
  • Q: What has changed in the latest version?
    A:
The ReadMe.rtf file that is installed with the program lists the changes made in each version. A summary is here.

Installation

  • Q: I can't download from the FTP site
A: We just added a new alternative way to download via HTTP that will probably solve your problem. On the download page, beneath the Download button there is a "problems downloading?" link. That link goes to a page that looks similar but says "(HTTP Download)." Try the Download button on that page.
  • Q: I don't know whether to download the "32-bit" or "64-bit" version of Image Composite Editor
A: There is a new link below the two download buttons that says "Help: 32-bit or 64-bit" that will explain how to determine whether you're running a 32-bit or 64-bit edition of Windows.

Bugs/Known Issues

  • Q: I ran ICE and it worked the first time, but now it won't run anymore
    A:
This bug is fixed in version 1.1r1 and later of Image Composite Editor. Download the latest version here.

Operation

  • Q: What do the different options in the "Camera Motion" combo box mean?
    A:
Please refer to this post where ICE Team Member Matt Uyttendaele describes the camera motion models.
  • Q: What are the command-line options for Image Composite Editor?
    A:
Currently the command line is interpreted quite simply:
    1. If the command line contains any files of type *.spj (an Image Composite Editor project), the specified project is opened
    2. Otherwise the command line is interpreted as a list of source images which are immediately stitched
