I absolutely love this program! Picasa 3 advertises collages, but it's not even close to being in the same league. I put some of my favorite Disney pictures together to make collages for computer wallpaper. I'll use these for many other projects. Here's a sample of what I was able to do in less than 10 minutes: http://gblinckmann.spaces.live.com/photos/cns!7386096BFC12195A!1572/. These collages were able to sell a couple more copies of AutoCollage.
As great as this program is, there's still room for improvements. I'd like to see more output sizes:
4x6, 5x7, 8x10 (you have these already)8.5x11 and A4Square (Jewel Cases)4:316:916:10Screen resolution really isn't all that useful, since I often want to make collages for other people's screen. I'd rather have the different aspect ratios.
By the way, I'm glad that you license this for multiple PC's. My daughter also likes photography and has her own computer in the house.
We're glad you're enjoying the program! The collages look very nice, thanks for giving us a pointer to them. Also, we've added your suggestions to the list of features to consider for potential future release of AutoCollage.
Thanks for letting us know how you feel about AutoCollage, and for the suggestions!
Not to put a dampener on your enjoyment, and i guess this is also for the program team, on the 2nd example shown from this user, there is a picture of me, hehe, ( the gorilla ) but you can clearly see the edge of the photo. This is another example of which i was saying about a little tweaking.
I assume the gorilla pic is an actual pic and therefore it is only the mask that hasnt faded out quite right that shows the rather ugly edge of the pic.
i too have noticed this on some of mine. I assume that the face recognition, where the face is big and near the edge of a photo, the instructions to mask, sorta collide?
Are these masking parameters going to be availabe for tweaking at some later build stage?
AutoCollage uses cutting-edge research to produce interesting collages. Like most image processing techniques, results aren't perfect, and sometimes you will see collages which a human could make better. We tried to make it easy to automically create a new collage - which will hopefully look better - in these cases.
Also, you can view and adjust face-detection results if you wish, which sometimes helps improve AutoCollage results.
We're considering features for any potential future release of AutoCollage, but don't have any specific details. We'll make a note of your suggestion to enable 'tweaking'.
thanks for your feedback!
