    Intro and ELNs

Hello, my name is Richard Stember.  I am the lead architect of an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) software product called LABTrack.  ELNs replace the paper notebooks used by researchers in many scientific and engineering fields.

Our product is developed in ASP.NET as a purely thin client application.  It combines word processing and document management functionality with the rules needed to maintain a scientific and legal document.  Pages are stored in HTML / XML format and the application incorporates hashing to support the use of the database records as legal evidence in a court of law and for patent prosecution/interference before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  LABTrack has found wide acceptance in many universities, pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech and chemical research and QA laboratories.  See www.labtrack.com for more info.

My background is chemistry.  I learned just enough programming to be dangerious.  Presently I am the CEO of LABTrack, LLC and I direct a small group of developers, marketing and sales people.  It's a lot of fun.

    Cheers,

    Richard Stember
