    Guided Tours - White Boxes

I'm seeing white boxes during the guided tours. I'm assuming there should be some type of content in these white boxes.

This is what I'm seeing. Example is from Using the Image Crossfade.

    White box error during tours

Additional Thought: I wonder if this has to do with me not having IE assigned as my default browser. I'll have to test this out when I get some extra time.

My default browser is IE and I have the exact same problem.

    My system is a Dell 8250, Intel pentium4 mono 2.4, 512meg,  video NVIDIA GEforce4 MX420 with 64 meg.

I suspect my video card to blank out the text in the white boxes since it is way under specs.

The rest works fairly well so I'll live with it. My other PC a recent Dell laptop1520 duo and all over spec will not even load WWT it gives an error with DirectX which at is the latest level ; smoke will clear up in few months and everything will start working fine.

    good luck.

     Hi woodeye,

On your desktop machine: This is usually a video card issue. Try updating to the latest video card drivers from your video card manufacturer.

On your laptop: Reinstall DirectX 9.0c:  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en

White boxs are usually a video card issue, try the following:

    • Update to the latest video card drivers from your video card manufacturer.
    • Try a different video card.

Same issue.  Google Earth works fine, so I guess I'm stuck with that until this is fixed.  Too bad.  I like Microsoft's openness in this project.  I'll subscribe to this thread and wait for a fix to come along.

    Hi guerrid,

Looking at your Vista experience rating, the video card seems to be the weak link.

I checked NVIDIA Web site for your card and they say to consult your notebook's manufacture for the latest drivers. You might give that a try.

    Thank you,

    Chuck
