Planets don't appear either, as long as the window is larger than a certain size.
It is NOT an internet access issue. It is DEMONSTRABLY a graphics issue.
For me, when i go into solar system mode i can see the planets. they do flicker but not enough to fully disapear.
If i go into sky mode they flicker then disapear unless i zoom or pan - if i zoom or pan the whole process repeats its self.
wwt is connecting to the internet fine
ati 4870x2
Catalyst 8.11 Final (released today)
xp64
edit: running wwt in a window dosnt work for me. i get the same problems.
I have Radeo 9200 SE/XP as well and I am not getting anything. I tried an update for the display driver from ATI which upgrades driver from 9200 to 9250 but still nothing.
Updated to Catalyst 8.12 Whql drivers - problem is still there.
I have talked one of the Ati driver beta testers..he also has a Ati HD 4870x2, WWT works fine for him but he uses Vista.
Guess my problem is because im using xp64?.... he couldnt tell me because he dosnt have that os..

Microsoft has threw another release (Solstice Borealis Beta) but the problem with graphic charts ATI RADEON 9000 series hasn't been solved.
What a deception!
All,
FYI under Windows 7 Beta all the flickering/Alpha problems on Radeon Mobility (mine is Mobility 9700) chips are FIXED!
