Hi !
I have exactly the same problem like all here with radeon 92x0.
os: WindowsXP sp3
AMD Sempron 2600+ and 1GB RAM
GECUBE Radeon 9250 - DX8.1 compatible card with 256MB RAM and 6.11 Catalyst drivers
IE 8 beta
DX9c and .NET 3.5
latest WWT and no proxy
But I think i found something interesting. I can see any images manually loaded into panorama but canot see defaults panorama pictures and manually loaded images into sky view. And like all I can't see any downloaded pictures. I hope i could help
Sorry for my poor english and please fix this cause it's realy great program
Steve:Just to be clear(er),
Fair enough Steve, I dont think we will be able to agree on this... I feel that you are expecting more than is reasonable and you dont...
I would say that your posts have been informative and well considered. With regard to your question about how can I know its good without it fully working... well thats based on the functionality that does work for me... and my extrapolation from there based on the videos of it I have seen. I really like the interface, the concept, and the promise of the exploring that this program opens up for us all. That is why I am considering selling my house and children so I can buy a new video card and some more memory... :)
We share a love of astronomy it seems... although I am, till now, fairly ignorant of the night sky... If I can get this working I hope to change that a tad... Good luck to us both.
i have the same issue.. did you ever get it to work?
I tried reducing the screen resolution, and reducing the size of the WWT window, but neither had any effect. The program installed without a hitch on my other computer, which uses a different video card.
Still does not work. I hope the team at Microsoft is still working on the problem...haven't heard anything since I indicated that screen resolution and windowed mode had no effect. Hope there is something else to try otherwise a lot of us will just be left out in the frigid vacuum of space....brrrrrr!
I saw the same problem, and fixed it by updating my NVIDIA driver, as suggested in an earlier post on this thread. I also used option 2 at http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us. Looks like there is a dependancy on the version of graphics card driver you have installed - perhaps updatign to the latest one will fix the problem for everyone....
From what I see it is time to replace my ATI 9250, and many have recommended that I try the GForce.
KEVIN: Can you please tell us all which NVidia card you have, so at least we will know that that series works

HI Steve,
We are starting to see a trend in the posts with the ATI 9250 card's ability to render images while using WWT. I cannot say for sure that your video card is the problem but, it's sort of looking that way.

Well I have problems with image rendering too and I have a ATI Radeon 9200 card. Seems that there is a problem with this sort of cards.
Hi Chuck,
Thanks very much for the heads-up regarding the ATI 9250. Can anyone confirm if they have an ATI 9250 that renders the images properly? This will assist greatly. Please note that I've updated the driver for this GPU with no results. Thank you!
Steve
Add yet another ATI Radeon user to the list. Seems the 9200 suffers the same (only constellation line drawings, no details, cache full of .PNGs that look fabulous!) issue. Haven't tried it on the wife's laptop (Radeon 200M) yet, but will...

I have an ATI 9200 & I just installed the WWT update & I still only get constellation lines.
Screw it.I guess it's google earth for me. I've wasted enough time.I'm uninstalling this over hyped junk.

I suggest to wait for the final version, because this one is only the beta. Betas always contain some things which don't work properly for the user. I have the same video card as you and I too have those problems. So I suggest to calm down, I'm sure they are working on it to fix the problems.
As a 9250 owner also, I had a thought that it would be interesting to get or solicit an opinion from ATI as to what specifically is wrong or different with the card. Perhaps it's not a Microsoft Research issue, but an ATI issue. Afterall, we all bought that card (albeit some time ago) being told it had 3d, etc. If you look at the minimum spec for WWT, it meets spec, so why wont it work?
Maybe rather than a final version from Microsoft, we need a new driver from ATI. The problem seems to be only with the 92xx series, so what is different? If a GeForce MX440 works, why not this?
