I select an image to view, wait for it to download fully, but I get... nothing, just a black screen.
Even the tours don't work.

I'm having the same problem.  I see the wireframes of the constellations, with the hotspot outlines as I move the cursor.  The tours play, I can hear the audio, but there are no images.

I'll give them a little bit. I installed the app on my laptop and it works pretty good, though the laptop

is underpowered for the job. Images are very cool though.

This issue may be caused by your proxy settings. Try the following:

If you are behind a Proxy Server you will need to make a change to your browser.

For Firefox: Select Menu Item Tools >> Options

Select Advanced Tab, then Network

Under Connection Select the Settings Button

Select Auto-detect proxy settings or use manual settings and specify your proxy sever

For IE users: Select menu Item Tools >> Options

Select the Connections Tab, LAN Settings

Select Use a proxy server for your LAN and then specify your proxy name and port (Usually 80)

No joy, and I am directly connected to the Internet, no proxy that I'm aware of. Does WWT use

the browser to get the images? I thought it was a stand alone program with its own comm tools.

Also, as I said, my laptop works fine on the same internet connection just VERY slow since

it's not that powerful of a machine.

One thing to try. During testing phase we found that if you use the standard Vista video drivers the program experienced problems displaying the pictures.

Please make sure that you have the manufacturer's video driver. Also, please make sure that you don't use 120 DPI.

Thanks

It's not my connection & WWT is allowed in my firewall settings & my default browser is IE 7.

I'm on 1.5mg DSL also.Everything else works fine.

I just updated google earth which by the way....   has never given me any problems.

Everything else is up to date to.

If I zoom out I see a few lines of different colors but that's it.

Hi

I'd like to try your suggestion, but am rather ignorant and do not know what a proxy server is.. and if I change mine, would the changing of it interfere with other internet based programs I am running?

Thanks.

Hi people,

I had the same problem, but I (by chance) found that it only occured during full screen window mode. Running the application in "windowed" mode solved the problem.

Tom

Ps. I also installed directx10, but my guess is that there is an issue in full-screen mode

Nope, I thought it might be a driver issue as well so I downloaded the latest ATI/AMD driver and installed. It's

got some nice features but unfortunately did not change anything as far as WWT. I'm confused about the 120DPI

remark. I've never seen a setting (at least that I'm aware of) for DPI settings in XP Pro. Please advise.

Hi,

Did you try running it in windowed mode?
